Aiden Yeh and Rita Zeinstejer are by now a ”classic” duet in BaW. Last Tuesday (Feb. 19) they gave BaW08 participants two very professional and eye-opening presentations with a lot of “food for thought” and sources of inspiration for blended learning.

Rubena St. Louis’ presentation on Designing Your Own Materials was a wealth of information.   Rubena asks the participants to take a close look at what course materials are and suggests that teachers consider developing some of their own support material.  Teacher created content serves a “particular” group.  It is coursework which has been developed and personalized to meet the needs of a particular class. 

For those participants lucky enough to attend the presentation, thank you for being such a great audience.  For those who were unable to attend – not to worry as Rubena’s noteworthy presentation is now a part of BaW08!  We encourage you to keep the dialog going by leaving comments.

Jonathan took us through several exercises while the back chat room rocked with information and suggestions. We hope that the nearly 30 BAWers had a great time and that those unable to attend will enjoy the recording (to be posted soon). What did you think about this virtual room for your online classes?

Another great live session in BaW08, this time presented by Graham Stanley on WiZiQ, focusing on blogs, wikis and podcasts. He and an enthusiastic group of participants discussed the potential of different tools, how to make the most of them in class, and some of their advantages and limitations.

We would like to thank Graham for being with the Webheads group once again and for sharing with us his expertise in blogging, ‘wikiing’ and podcasting. Our thanks also to all the participants who attended the session and contributed with their questions, thoughts and ideas.

We, the BaW08 Team, would like to thank all of those who could make it to the live session today at yahoo messenger with Michael Coghlan. It was a very nice event, he talked about integrating voice technology into teaching and discussed the potential of some tools with participants. We also had the pleasure to listen to him singing “Happy Online”, which has become a hit among us webheads. Vance Stevens also joined us and spoke for a few minutes about his experience with voice tools in e-learning. Thanks  a lot Vance.
