I really enjoyed this tour. I think it's really amazing that even though so many people could be online together we could learn some basics about TI. I think that if I had the same number of people in my house and tried to do a tour of it I would still be finding some lost guests the week after!! and no, my house isn't that big :-)

Of course late arrivals always distract any meeting, any where -but thank heavens BJB has obviously travelled this route before and so gently controlled. Thanks.
I'll be going back in to investigate further.

Hi everybody,

Since some of you are asking for information on the educational uses of Tapped In, here's a page where you can get articles written about TI:

http://tappedin.org/tappedin/web/papers

Enjoy!

Dear all,
Sorry for my mistake!
Yesterday, as soon as the tour finished I posted my comment in the previous entry: "Welcome to BaW08". I acted impulsively as most of my students do, without taking some time to read and check.
All in all, I found the tour very enlightening! BjB proves to be a wonderful teacher and guide. Her guidelines were excellent! Now everything depends on us. We should try to visit and explore the environment, as many times as possible, so that we gain confidence in the wide range of possibilities it offers.
In my case, I happened to visit it two days earlier, got registered and found out the answer to question 3(Week1 activities). These previous visits helped me a lot during the tour.
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Hugs,
Silvia from Argentina

The Tapped In event was a huge success. Thanks BJB for being there for us and leading the tour. Some of our friends couldn´t make it for personal or technical reasons. Don´t worry, there will be other opportunities.
Tapped In has been a nice hang out place for me on Sunday mornings because the webheads always have an informal meet there at 12 noon GMT and I drop by sometimes and have always met and made great friends there. The tour, however, has shown me other possibilities and made me thnk about how to better explore this wonderful tool.
Hugs

Thank you, BJB and the BaW08 team! The tour was wonderful. Though I had registered to Tapped In a few days before the event, the tour made all the difference. The basics of the educational environment are more or less clear. The next step is to explore and experiment with the tools and facilitites it has to offer.

I agree with Isabel Teixeira and Jenna Pollock that we could benefit even more from those who have worked in this environment and know how to make the best of it. Please share your experience!

I just read through the chatlog. Thanks to BJ for staying calm with a crazy big audience.

I had never heard of TI before and would have liked a little background about it beforehand. I think that would have made the tour a little more clear to everyone.

Thanks so much for exposing us to this tool. It would also be nice to have more info or discussion about how TI has been used in education. There are certainly many chat places out there - Tapped In seems to be great, but I'd love to hear more about unique ways it's being used.

Hi everybody.

I am glad that you all liked Tapped In. It is indeed a great resource :-) and our dear BJ had a great patience with teachers that sometimes behave like kids with a new toy ;-)

We gave the most important instruction in our message, which was repeated by BJ many times: "Listen" and follow instructions, not to mention being at Tapped In 10-15 minutes before the session.

Those who missed the session are cordially invited to attend our regular Webheads meetings on Sundays at noon GMT (reception).

Today we have another live session with Jeff Lebow and Dave Cormier at http://webheadsinaction.org Voice and text-chat.
D

Don´t miss it :-)

I had already visited Tapped In so I would be familiar with the basics before the tour, which I found really useful as I wouldn't have been able to find out all I learnt today by myself in such a short time.
Now it's time to go back and experiment with some students or colleagues (a.k.a "victims") using all the tools this community offers.

Perhaps sending a group message with the basic information beforehand may be useful so latecomers don't interrupt if they log on while the tour is in progress.

Thanks BJ for your patience and the fantastic tour!

Well, I also missed the tour... I had problems connecting... Maybe the computer was too tired this week, as it has worked longer hours than usual (BAW08's fault - just joking)

When I joined Tapped In I was amazed with the concept: allways someone on line to help, and once you grasp the concept, you just need more time to explore... That is also why I was sorry to miss the meeting...

I read through the transcript, I tried to read more carefully DJD2 instructions and it will be handy next time I'll go in...

Thanks
